The twelve partners operate well as individuals and as a unit, sharing a common goal of helping Cohen Arnold’s clients succeed in all areas of their business. Each partner has areas or sectors that they specialise in.

Partner Profiles

Joshua A Neumann

Joshua joined the Firm in 1983, serving his Articles with us before qualifying. He was admitted to Partnership in 1992.

Whilst Joshua runs a general practice portfolio, his primary specialist skills lie in the field of property, charities, trust and estate planning. Joshua puts his financial expertise to work with the provision of tax compliance and planning services to high net worth individuals, and has extensive experience dealing with the HM Revenue & Customs at all levels. He also provides clients with services in the area of business planning including the obtaining of finance, succession planning and exit strategies.

David Goldberg

David qualified in 1990 and became a Partner of the Practice in 1997. He has gained experience in many aspects of general practice and has a special interest in personal and corporate tax planning. David's areas of expertise include all aspects of property investment and trading, the residential and nursing home markets and the non-profit sector.

Now responsible for the Firm's compliance procedures, he has authored publications on behalf of the Firm covering a range of different topics.

David Yu

David studied Accountancy and Business Law in Scotland before joining Cohen Arnold in 1985. He is responsible for a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from substantial groups of property investment companies to high net worth individuals with complex tax issues. David has advised clients on a range of issues facing businessmen today, including corporate acquisitions and VAT on property.

Over the years, David has engaged with a number of overseas companies wishing to establish a presence in Europe through incorporation of a Limited Company in England & Wales. He has advised overseas clients on the corporate and taxation issues arising from establishing a business in the UK.

Barry Leigh

Barry graduated from the University of Manchester being placed first with a First Class Honours Degree in Accountancy with Business Information Systems in 2001 whereupon he joined Cohen Arnold. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004 having been awarded the Howitt Prize in the June 2003 Professional Stage Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales. Barry became a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2006 and was awarded the Ronald Ison Medal in the November 2005 Examination of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He was admitted to Partnership in April 2008.

In addition to responsibility for general practice activities, Barry has developed his expertise in the fields of Corporate and Personal Taxation and has been involved in advising clients on a number of significant transactions where his knowledge and practical experience have been fully utilised.

Dov Harris

Dov qualified in 2005 and became a Partner of the Practice in 2009.

Dov has been active in developing all areas of the practice, and has been particularly adept at assisting new businesses setting up in the UK, providing proactive guidance to fledgling and well-established UK registered charities and advising high net worth individuals and corporate groups of companies.

Dov has considerable experience in dealing with HM Revenue and Customs’ investigations and enquiries for individuals and companies with much success and he has also lectured and produced seminars on accounting and business for a variety of audiences.

In addition to his general practice activities, Dov heads the Payroll Bureau and has taken responsibility for the publicity and marketing of the Practice.

Asher Sternlicht

Asher has provided his expertise to the practice initially in a consultancy role and more recently as a Partner. An expert in the field of taxation – in which he has lectured widely – he has integrated into the Firm with great success and has substantially contributed to the expansion of our Tax Department.

A qualified Chartered Taxation Advisor and Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Asher’s advice is much sought after in all areas and in particular the spheres of tax planning, estates and inheritance.

Moshe Broner-Cohen

Moshe joined the Firm in 2004, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007 and was admitted to Partnership in 2010.

His broad portfolio encompasses the audit of a wide range of property investment and trading companies as well as the audit of charities and other not-for-profit organisations.

He is adept at tax planning for both individuals, families and trusts and has experience with assurance assignments for a diverse range of entities.

Moshe is fluent in Hebrew and advises many Hebrew-speaking clients of Israeli based organisations and Israeli investors in the UK.

Pinny Olsberg

Pinny qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2012 and became a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2014. Pinny was admitted into the Partnership in April 2017.

Pinny has developed his expertise in the field of taxation with a particular focus on Personal, Corporate and Estate & Trusts. His areas of expertise include corporate restructuring; HNWI and UHNWI estate planning; residence & non-domiciles; offshore structuring & Trusts and HMRC enquiries and disclosures.

In addition to his advisory work, Pinny has authored numerous articles in the field of taxation that have been published across national forums including the Chartered Institute of Taxation’s (CIOT) Property Tax Voice.

Baruch Brenig

Baruch qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007 and joined the Partnership in 2019.

Baruch manages a broad range of clients ranging from small businesses to large groups of companies, high net worth individuals and charities and has been involved with major corporate transactions in which he has played an important role on behalf of clients.

A member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and qualified in Will writing, Baruch has a keen interest in Wills and Estates and has actively developed the Firm’s probate department.

Keith Sussman

Keith graduated from Liverpool University with a BA honours degree in Accounting and Finance. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1997 and was admitted to the Partnership in 2020.

He manages a diverse portfolio, providing general accounting and business solutions, including corporate and personal tax advice. In addition, he assists resident and non-resident property investment companies with management accounts and VAT advice.

Keith has developed his interest in corporate mergers and acquisitions and has assisted a number of large property investment clients with tax planning and due diligence in relation to corporate transactions.

Aquib Akhtar

Aquib joined the Firm in 2008 and was admitted to the Partnership in 2022. He graduated from the University of Delhi with a B.Com Honours degree before qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant. Aquib is also a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor and a member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP).

He has gained experience in all areas of general practice with a focus on Personal and Corporate Tax planning and has advised on several major corporate transactions including mergers and demergers. Aquib has developed a keen interest in Trust Taxation and has assisted clients in successfully utilising Trusts for family wealth planning and tax mitigation.

Shai Cohen

Shai Graduated from Leeds University with a BA Honours degree in Economics, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008 and was admitted to the Partnership in 2022.

Shai has experience in working with owner managed businesses dealing with small businesses to large groups of companies, high net worth individuals, charities and trusts. He provides sound commercial business advice that is sensitive to tax implications and has amassed extensive experience in dealing with major corporate transactions and HM Revenue & Customs Enquiries and Disclosures.

Shai enjoys interacting with his clients and looking after their business, accounting and taxation needs at all levels.

Shai is fluent in Hebrew.

Consultants

Jonathan N Schwarz

Jonathan graduated from the London School of Economics in 1968. He was then articled to Cohen Arnold and qualified in 1972, becoming a Partner in 1975. Jonathan became a Consultant in April 2018. During his time in practice, Jonathan has dealt with a wide range of clients and many different types of situations. His experience includes the audit of Public Companies in the property sector and working with city teams of merchant bankers and solicitors as Reporting Accountant.

Jonathan has extensive specialist knowledge and experience in dealing with charity clients - both large and small - assisting them in navigating the treacherous paths required to comply with all statutory provisions as well as in negotiating with the HM Revenue & Customs and the Charity Commission where necessary. He has also dealt extensively with large and small property clients and has built up a wealth of ideas which he uses to assist clients in efficient tax planning.

Daniel B Myers

Danny joined the Firm in 1979 and, having completed his Articles, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983. He joined the Partnership in 1986 and, whilst developing his audit client portfolio, began to pursue his special interest in corporate acquisitions and investigations in the late 1980's. Danny provides tax planning and due diligence for corporate acquisitions and restructurings and general tax consultancy for a diverse client base. Danny became a Consultant in April 2022.

He functions as a business advisor, helping clients clarify their strategic and business plans, then developing the systems to support their objectives. He brings a clear perspective to technical and business issues and is able to develop comprehensive and innovative solutions to the problems faced by our clients.

Abraham J Braceiner

Abraham qualified as a member of ICAEW in 1971 and commenced in private practice as a sole practitioner in 1975. He joined the Firm as a Consultant in April 2022.

With a wide variety of clientele, he has considerable experience in advising both companies and individuals in all aspects of accounting and taxation in many types of businesses.
